<title><![CDATA[Netball &amp; Badminton Centre (073) - Roof Repair (Front Entrance Foyer) - 6th May 2026. (Updated 20/05/2026)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<h3>Description of the works</h3>
<p><strong>20/05/26 - Update in relation to the below notice.</strong> Please be advised that, as part of the scheduled works, there will be a temporary interruption to the building&rsquo;s electrical supply. This is necessary to enable the identification of local consumer units and to facilitate the provision of an additional essential electrical power supply to the exterior of the Netball &amp; Badminton Centre building.</p>
<p>The interruption is scheduled to take place on <strong>Thursday 21 May 2026 between 07:00am and 09:00am (inclusive)</strong> and/or <strong>Friday 22 May 2026 between 07:00am and 09:00am</strong> (inclusive).</p>
<p>We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.</p>

<p>Please note that the front entrance to the Centre will be closed for the 10 weeks duration of the works. Access will instead be maintained via the rear entrance, which will serve as the temporary main entry point to the Netball &amp; Badminton Centre.</p>
<p>For your safety, please observe and comply with all signage and safety notices displayed around the site boundary throughout the works period.</p>

<p>The RLB Contractors will be working in various locations around the building, inspecting fire doors, with most of the work in corridors and staircases.&nbsp; The disruption is expected to be minimal.&nbsp; The Contractor has been asked to report to Receptions where applicable, prior to carrying out the inspections in each building.</p>
<p><strong>Timescale</strong>&nbsp;</p>
<p>From 20/5/26 to 30/6/26 Fire doors inspections will take place in the buildings above between, 9.00am -5.00pm.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Seb Coe/HIPAC (074) - Plant Room Refurbishment - 15/06/26 &ndash; 19/08/26

<description><![CDATA[<h3>Description of the Works</h3>
<p>All existing primary heating (and controls) plant within the roof plantroom is being replaced for new as it approaches &lsquo;end-of-life&rsquo;. In addition to this, the radiant panel heating system is being &lsquo;flushed&rsquo; to remove unwanted sludge build-up.</p>
<p>The new plant and flushing of radiant panels will greatly improve the efficiency and performance of the heating system.</p>
<p>End users can expect intermittent noise from contractors and small power tools (although this will be minimal as the works are in the roof plantroom).&nbsp;</p>

<title><![CDATA[Rutland Building (203) - Insulation Testing - 22nd May 2026.

<p>Rutland Building - Room 006</p>
<p style="line-height: 15.0pt;"><span style="font-family: Segoe UI, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Insulation Testing -&nbsp; In p<span>reparation</span> for flooring work.</span></span></p>
<p>Within room 0.06 the flooring has sunken where a floor duct passes underneath and will require replacement. The duct contains some type of insulation which requires testing for asbestos. The engineer will require the room to be unoccupied during the testing day. Air tests will be carried out before the room can be declared safe for staff to return. The work will only occur in room 0.06 and other rooms will still be usable. We have chosen Friday 22<sup>nd</sup> May as many staff work from home and the following Monday is a bank holiday.</p>

<p>This is the third fire alarm visit for the testing year (October 2025 &ndash; September 2026) set out by the University's schedule, and requires a visit of silent testing preceded (or followed) by <strong>LIVE TESTING</strong> which will involve activating <strong>all sounders and fire interfaces in the building(s)</strong>.</p>
<p>During the <strong>LIVE TESTING</strong>, all sounders will be activated. BTS will be wearing ear defenders, but cannot supply them to all the occupiers of the buildings. The building does not need to be evacuated, but can be if the occupiers so wish. <strong>All</strong> interfaces will be activated which mostly (but not limited to) action BMS links and door closures. There can be <strong>no exceptions</strong> due to the requirements of the tests. The alarms will be activated for a period of up to <strong>4 hours</strong> from the time stated below (in brackets) going around the building usually in alphabetical order of the Cores. There will be overlapping sounds throughout the Cores &ndash; this is part of the set up.</p>
<p>BTS can reset all plant/BMS systems in the roof plant rooms around the building using the available FM BMS reset keys, but cannot reset any individual systems belonging to tenants.</p>
<p>A period of silent testing will follow (or precede) this where a selection of input devices around the building(s) will be activated silently. This will not activate any outputs on the system. BTS will regularly monitor the system for any real fires and raise the alarm if necessary.</p>
<p>Once this notice has been sent, access will be assumed to have been granted to BTS for the dates/times and activations mentioned below UNLESS we are contacted prior to the date/time in question with at least three days' notice.</p>
