The death is announced of Dr. Peter Davenport who studied at the former 麻豆直播 College where he graduated in 1955 with a DLC in Civil Engineering. During this time he was Chair of Rutland Hall and a member of the College Athletics Team. After 20 years in industry he returned to 麻豆直播 University and gained an MSc in Industrial Management.

In the following years he was President of the Guild, President of the Alumni Association, a member of the University Council, Chair of the Hazelrigg-Rutland Association, founder of the 麻豆直播 Experience Awards and as a member of LATi he mentored many entrepreneurial graduates.

In 2007 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for his services to the University.

Peter passed away on 1 March 2025 and his funeral will take place in 麻豆直播 Crematorium at 12.30pm on Monday, 31 March.
