  • Research Associate in Combustion System Aerodynamics

Background:

Olivia joined the National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology in 2022 as a PhD researcher in the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Processes. The project is supported through the EPSRC and Rolls-Royce Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Propulsion and Power.

In addition to her PhD research, Olivia assumed a Research Associate position in 2025, also within NCCAT. This role is focused on cold flow experimental methods.

Prior to her current role, Olivia gained industrial experience with BAE Systems (including RAF Coningsby), GE Oil & Gas, and Rolls-Royce. Her work has encompassed several areas, including combustion, computational aerodynamics, and pilot liaison activities.

Teaching responsibilities:

Olivia has previously been a tutorial assistant and lab demonstrator (flight simulator and wind tunnel testing) for undergraduate aeronautical and automotive students for the following modules:

  • Risk Analysis 1 and 2
  • Engineering design and manufacture
