University launches Technical Apprenticeship Scheme

The University is pleased to announce it is currently recruiting for six Technical Apprentices.

The scheme is part of Â鶹ֱ²¥’s pledge to the Technician Commitment and will help to future-proof our technical workforce.

The Apprentices will rotate between most of our academic Schools including the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering; the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences; School of Science; Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering; School of Design and Creative Arts; and Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering.

This appointment is full-time and fixed term (48 months for engineering-based and 24 months for lab-based Technical apprentices) for the duration of your apprenticeship, with a starting salary of £22,011 per annum. In addition to on-the-job training and development, you will attend Â鶹ֱ²¥ College to gain a recognised qualification.

The apprenticeship roles are a pathway into an exciting career as a technician in a variety of scientific and engineering fields. Whilst no guarantee can be made, it is hoped that a permanent position could be found for an appointee who successfully completes the Apprenticeship.

Further information about the role and how to apply can be found on the .

The closing date for applications is 14 July 2024. Interviews will be held 23 July 2024. Informal enquiries should be directed to Matt Parry.
